Current undergraduate students who wish to do further academic studies could consider the following options:

MSc Pharmacology and related taught MSc degrees
This option is really applicable to students who have not studied BSc Pharmacology as their first-degree subject or wish to study a more specialised subject such as toxicology. Typically these courses are one year in duration with a 6-month taught element followed by a 6-month full time research project. Information on MSc courses can be found on the Prospects web site.


MRes (Masters in Research)
Typically MRes courses are of 1 year in duration and consist of formal training in skills plus one to three research projects, with more than one project in different areas to give you a variety of research experience.

PhD The standard PhD is 3 years in duration and consists of a full time single research project studied in depth. Information on post-graduate courses can be found on web sites such as findaphd.com and www.jobs.ac.uk.
