Would you like to promote a new medicine to doctors, paramedics and pharmacists?

As a sales representative, you would be travelling round the country and making presentations to health care professionals of your product. Have you the skills to communicate science, seek feedback and promote your product? Does the idea of achieving your sales targets and being at the ‘cutting edge’ of a business sound attractive? As a sales representative you may become involved in product strategy and marketing. You would bring your knowledge of dealing with customers together with an understanding of the needs of patients and the biological profile of new medicines produced by your company. Your work would determine how the medicine would be marketed, how much it would cost and how sales, effectiveness and new market opportunities would be monitored? You would have a keen interest in business, economics and science.

You can enter such positions with a first degree. You would receive training in sales and marketing techniques and you might be motivated to seek a business qualification by part time study.
